About Connaught Place


New Delhi's colonial heart is Connaught Place.Construction was started in 1929 and completed in 1933.

 Before the existence of Connaught Place market the area was enclosed with the Kikar trees and was a hunting place for jackals and wild pigs.

To develop this area the near by place were abolished for the construction and the only old buildings that still stand in this area are Hanuman Temple,Jain temple and Jantar Mantar.
